USA Projects
NLLB reaches out to those in need wherever they are.
Often those in the USA do not want their names or photos used, but that never stops the work from proceeding.
Wheelchair Repair for Elderly Amputee:
A elderly man needed his wheelchair repaired, but was meeting obstacles in obtaining help to get it repaired. NLLB was able to find a man who repaired wheelchairs and able to get the chair to him. NLLB was ready to pay for the repair, but there was no charge as used parts were able to be used.
Emergency Care for 5 year old:
NLLB discovered a distraught father of a 5 yr. old in an Urgent Care facility (USA). The family had insurance, but were unable to pay the $145 co-pay needed for the child to be seen. The child was suffering from a severe Asthma attack. The father was in tears and begged for help from the Dr. He had enough money to pay a portion and said he had just come from an Emergency Room, where he could not pay the $500 co-pay. NLLB was able to pay the co-pay on the spot and the child was seen. The Doctor was extremely thankful for NLLB.
Truck Repair: It was brought to the attention of NLLB that a young woman's older model truck had been stolen. This was her transportation to work. The truck was found and had been stripped. NLLB was able to work with her father to purchase new and used parts. Her father did the repairs on his own, alleviating the cost of labor. We were able to get her back in her truck in a matter of 2-3 weeks at a very reasonable cost. It was a first for NLLB to buy used truck parts on Ebay. Partnering with this young woman and her family is one more example of how we help individual as well as use our funds wisely. This family were not able to pay for this themselves and NLLB was there to help.
Rent for Accident Victim: NLLB heard of a young man who was in a serious accident and unable to pay his rent. We were able to fund his rent for 6 weeks (and his landlord agreed to a discount). This young man was extremely touched to have a group that he had never heard of reach out and help him. NLLB continues to help .. ONE PERSON AT A TIME.
